History
In the spring of 1999, eight UCLA students began working towards the creation of the first South Asian male fraternity in California. After months of hard work and dedication, UCLA recognized Beta Chi Theta as an official fraternity on June 2nd, 1999 and granted it membership into the Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC). With the same zeal apparent in its creation, Beta Chi Theta has expanded beyond UCLA to include chapters all over the nation while also creating a network with other South Asian male fraternities across the United States.
Primarily, Beta Chi Theta was founded on the principle of Brotherhood. In the fraternity, brothers create friendships and bonds that will last throughout college and beyond. The sense of brotherhood Beta Chi Theta instills upon its members will help young men in all facets of life, not just the fraternity. Along with brotherhood, Beta Chi Theta develops among its brothers the principles of tradition, leadership and service to humanity. Beta Chi Theta also strives to promote South Asian culture, achieve academic excellence and create a unified nationwide network.
Epsilon Colony History
The Epsilon Colony was established on August 28th, 2002 at the University of California, Riverside with seven proud and diligent gentlemen. It was in these men that the vision of Beta Chi Theta has become a success at UCR. Since then the gentlemen of UCR have shown great strides towards promoting South Asian awareness, Brotherhood, and Service to Humanity and other pillars of Beta Chi Theta. Going above and beyond the call of duty with every step, the brothers of UCR bring success to themselves, and those around them while maintaining a level of humility that defines the character of a gentleman. Currently, we continue to expand our horizons, and take new steps everyday in an attempt to better our collective environments and bring light to a culture that, for so long, has gone unnoticed.
